Overview

Protein Price helps you read a product's nutrition label and price so you can estimate protein density and value. The current version is built to keep your data on your device.

What the app uses

  • Camera access, if you choose to scan a nutrition label or price tag live.
  • Photo library import, if you choose an existing image to analyze.
  • Local device storage to save recent scan history on your iPhone or iPad.

What the app stores

Protein Price stores recent scan results locally on your device. That history is used only so you can review or clear your past entries in the app.

The current app version does not create user accounts, does not upload your scan history to a backend service, and does not sync your entries across devices.

Subscription information

Protein Price Pro subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. The app uses RevenueCat's purchase SDK to process purchase and entitlement information so it can unlock or restore premium features after App Store purchases. This service may also process a pseudonymous app user identifier and technical information needed to operate the purchase service. Protein Price does not receive your full payment card details and does not run its own billing backend.

What the app does not collect

  • No advertising identifier data.
  • No analytics or tracking profiles.
  • No account, login, or profile information.
  • No server-side copy of your scan history.

How scans are processed

The app uses Apple's on-device frameworks to extract text from images and calculate verdicts. OCR and value estimates depend on image quality and label readability.

Protein Price is an informational shopping tool. Nutrition and price calculations are estimates, not medical advice. Always verify the package label and in-store pricing before making purchase or dietary decisions.
